Friends:
We have received the following e-mail from Jordan Owl, Manager of Security for SFN #29 regarding the use of the beach this summer.
We are aware that some cottagers have not yet received their landfill passes and that some service fee cheques have not been processed. We have noted this with Jordan.
Please make your guests aware of these rules and ensure that someone has the landfill pass with them on the beach, if possible.
We have noticed the Cancom Security is using a 4 x 4 to patrol the beach. Their officers are uniformed. You may see tracks at beach access points and along the beach itself. All other vehicles are always prohibited with the beach closed.
Again, please follow the guidance of the province to socially distance, if unable to do so wear a mask, gatherings of no more then ten people, limit unnecessary travel and wash your hands.
Have a great summer!
David

Could you please update the SCOI members to notify that the beach is closed to the general public. Leaseholders will be permitted to use the beach, please consider others and socially distance.
We ask that leaseholders bring their landfill passes when on the beach to avoid any issues. The regular beach rules will be enforced:
- No Alcohol or Drugs
- No Dogs
- No BBQs
- No Off-Road Vehicles
- No Excessive Noise
During this modified beach season we also ask that everyone do their part to keep the beach tidy by not leaving any trash behind as services will be limited.
Also note that the beach is to be used at your own risk.
Leaseholders are encouraged to call Cancom Security at 519-379-4760 to report any issues observed.
Many Thanks For The Update & Reminders Of Beach Rules
# 6 – Please Do Not Leave Any Garbage On The Beach
Is There Any Suggestion As To What We Or Our GuestsCan Show To
Security If We Have Not Received Our Landfill Pass?
We have asked Cancom about that specific situation. My suggestion is don’t be anxious. Identify the cottage where you are staying and take it from there. If there are problems, let us know.
Hi! We have paid all of our fees and have not received our landfill pass yet. Are we able to use an old one to prove we have a cottage (to use the beach)
My lease check has not been cashed sent end of April have called band office and sent email not sure what to do now wonder if anyone else have this problem
We have not received our landfill pass, with the Band Offices closed how can we get ours?
With the Band offices officially closed, it is taking staff extra time to process all the lease and service fee payments. So, for now, you can take last year’s landfill pass with you or some other form of ID so CanCom can identify you as an SFN cottage owner.
Thanks so much for that information and once again our thanks for all the associations hard work.We would also like to thank the Chief for his timely and reassuring updates. In this time of great anxiety information is so important. We love our Lake Huron home and will continue to follow all precautions to protect our fellow residents and selves
Thanks for the updates and for the beach rules. It’s good to be reminded – especially re no dogs and no garbage on the beach! It is such a beautiful beach; let’s keep it clean.
Thanks Jordan for your efforts to maintain the beautiful beach. Presently, by the Trading Post there are dogs on the beach and in the water during these past few days. Are the ATV patrollers able to supervise and rule and instruct them to leave the beach with their dogs. Thank you for the great work you and your crew are doing,
Will the Band please place more trash cans on the beach?
Thank you
The beach is closed to the public which would suggest that trash on the beach is either washing up on the shore or being left behind by cottagers and their guests. We do not see the Band placing more trash cans on the beach and encourage cottagers to pick up in front of their properties as is done elsewhere along the shoreline.
The Chief said in today’s video announcement that garbage cans will be placed on the beach and washrooms opened some time around July 15. The beach is still closed and to be used at your own risk.
By the Trading Post, a large brown dog has been running loose all this week. The group is obviously at least eight adults plus many kids. Obviously, not respecting our community by following social distancing. What can we do?
Call Cancom.
Any chance of putting up more No Parking signs and No Dogs signs? There were two cars parked on 2nd and 31st with 3 dogs down at the beach….unleashed. ♂️
We suggest that if the parked cars represent a serious traffic hazard or are blocking a driveway, you call Cancom 519-379-4760.
The same goes for unleashed dogs on the beach if they are being a nuisance or are threatening and not in the control of their owner.
