I just wanted to touch base to clarify something that was brought to my attention from the SCOI web page. The $500 fine that our Bylaw Officers are giving out to leaseholders returning to cottages was set in place due to the state of emergency issued by SFN Chief and Council. The ticket is not a trespass offence, it is a community safety violation offence pertaining to this specific event.
Just wanted to clarify that this is not a trespass ticket being issued to leaseholders at their property.
Thank you,

Thank for providing the extra security at our cottages.
I know that we and I assume others are concerned about the conditions at our cottages and having the extra security is a great reassurance.
Thanks again
Thanks for watching over our cottages when we can’t be there.
If we want to access the property to retrieve items in the cottage do we set up an appointment for a visit to get in and leave same day with you the Band?
Currently you are not permitted to go to your cottage for any reason.
I am hoping that as things progress we might be allowed to do a quick visit. My daughter parked her tent trailer at our cottage over the winter and I hear that some campgrounds might open later on. She had to cancel her planned trip to BC so she’s hoping she might be able to go camping instead. Anyway we will just have to wait and see. We certainly won’t come unless we have permission.
I appreciate the care cancom has put forward and I support completely. But since it’s looking unlikely we will be at our cottages this season, is there a way to set up an appointment where we can retrieve some items? We have a lot of summer toys we usually just use at the cottage but since we will likely be home all summer, we would like to get a few items. Can we set up an appointment and show up in PPE such as gloves and masks, supervised by security to collect some items? Is there a way we can arrange this as many of us store our outdoor equipment at our cottages.
Once the Province and the MOH begin to remove restrictions we will see what the Band decides to do.
We will certainly bring this up as a suggestion if it looks like they are not going to let cottagers return for an extended period.
Is Cancom doing a walk-in check on all cottages or is it a drive by to see if there is anybody there. I guess every little bit helps as far as security goes. Thanks BARRY Mohr.
Our understanding is that they are driving by but if something looks amiss they investigate. The detailed walk around is done by Spring Patrol.
I am sure some people have left things at the cottage that would be useful at home such as golf clubs (hopefully be able to use soon) and bikes. It would be nice to be able to make arrangements to pick these up so our life at home could be a bit more comfortable.

Can we have local plumbers open our cottages? Can we have local cleaners come and clean before we are allowed to come up?
The answer is “no” to both questions. The Band has made it clear that they want cottages to remain closed at this time.
