SON Votes No to DGR
Saugeen Ojibway Nation votes no to Deep Ground Repository (DGR) on traditional lands.
Bruce County is no longer on the list as a potential site…
I can’t even begin to express how relieved I am that SON voted overwhelmingly against the proposed DGR. Thank you for voting to protect this beautiful land for us, and more importantly, for our future generations! Our cottage on Lake Huron, built by my grandfather in the early 60’s, is a beautiful escape from the big city and we can now breathe easy knowing it can remain so.
Thanks so much for the news you pass along! We really appreciate it!
I was just on the The Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) website and the site near Tiverton is still one of the two sites they are considering!
