Who do you contact if you see someone burning an open campfire?
If you see someone violating the ban, please contact the Wiarton OPP at 519.534.1323.
Try talking with them first, not everyone is aware of the ban.If they refuse then call the police.
Good point, John, particularly if you know them.
If fires are banned, are fireworks also banned? They can be just as dangerous as an open fire.
Thank you for raising this, Dave. We have checked with the Band Fire Chief, Quentin Root, and learned that the use of FIREWORKS is also covered under the ban. We’ve updated this post to reflect that.
Hi there,
What about the wood-burning fireplace in my cottage?
Is that okay?
Thanks,
Brenda
Wood burning fireplaces are included in the Band’s fire ban. Propane stoves and BBQs are OK.
