Many of you will recall the Band hiring Canadian Ecotourism Services last fall to develop an operational plan for Sauble Park.
Land lease cottage owners were invited to participate in a survey monkey designed to gather input from all community stakeholders (see https://scoi.ca/cottager-input-sought/). Over 300 cottagers completed the survey. In addition SCOI and South Sauble Cottage Association submit briefs to CES and the Band.
The Sauble Park Beach Operational Strategy was completed over the winter season and approved by Chief & Council in June.

A very encouraging set of recommendations and proposals.
As Beach front cottagers we have marveled at the enhancement of our Beach experiences resulting from denying vehicle access.
It is now much safer for young children, quieter and the absence of garbage and discarded equipment is remarkable. The regular beach patrolling seems to us to be very effective in deterring inappropriate actions and behavior.
From the report, it is to be hoped that visitor parking will be addressed soon. Weekend visitors are parking as close to entrances as they can disregarding the needs of cottagers.
Clearly the need for further public education is there as stated in the report.
We fell very encouraged by the steps taken so far.
