The South Sauble Cottage Association

Important Notice

To South Sauble Cottage Association Members

July 21, 2018

Dear Members,
I would like to bring your attention to several important items regarding your cottage and the beach.

1. Letter of concerns re beach issues:

As President of the Association I have sent a letter to Chief Lester Anoquot and the Band Council of Saugeen First Nation #29. It outlines a number of your key concerns expressed by cottagers regarding the management of the beach.

Read the letter to the Chief here.

Your endorsement of this letter is very important, and you can a) either print it off, sign it individually
and send to us for accumulation or sign it at the South Sauble Association Annual Meeting on August 4.
(We will have copies)

Sign an endorsement of this letter by printing the document here.

2. Annual Meeting of South Sauble Cottage Association:

South Sauble Community Church, Silver Lake Rd/16 Avenue.
Saturday, August 4th at 10 am.

3. Septic System Information Meeting:

A notice of this upcoming meeting is attached – it will be held Friday, August 3rd, 2-4 pm at the Sauble
United Church, (Zion- Amabel United Church) 899 main Street Sauble Beach. This meeting will provide
important info on the Band initiative for upgrading of septic systems on our cottages.
As you can see, there are several material developments underway and it would greatly assist us if you
would provide your email contact information, if you have not already.
We can send out updates promptly and efficiently if you have not already done so sign up for news
blasters on the SCOI web page where members can sign up for updates.
Membership is the bloodline of any grassroots volunteer association and we are no different. If you have
joined for 2018 we thank you for your support, if not we encourage to do so shortly.
Also, we all know not all cottagers are members or some have forgotten to join in a few years, we
encourage all paid members to approach your neighbours about membership. It is so important to have
informed neighbours and help build the Association.
We attach a 2018/19 membership form to assist in this request and hope you all can assist in this
effort. If you are receiving this by email, please see the word version of the petition and the
membership form also attached. (If opening the word docs on an Apple device, alignment may be

Who We Are

The South Sauble Association proudly represents cottage members leasing land along the famous South Sauble Beach area.

More specifically, our members have cottages in the area extending South to North from French Bay Road to Main St. (downtown Sauble) and from the Southampton Parkway to the Beach.

We are one of the four cottage owners’ associations that make up the umbrella organization of SCOI.

Where We Are

Our area encompasses approximately 400 plus lots with some of the first established cottages in the region.

Acclaimed as the “best” beach in Ontario our members enjoy some of the most fun loving, family days that the region can offer.

With 3.5 km of perfect sand and waterfront, our members enjoy the thrill of walking, cycling or running on the beach as well as enjoying gorgeous sunsets.

When and Where We Meet

Our association meetings are on the Saturday morning of the Civic long weekend at 10:00 a.m. at the South Sauble Community Church, located on 16th St. between 2nd Ave. and the Southampton Parkway.

Please consider joining our association.

Membership forms are online here.
